Is Keeta entering Europe?

Hi, it's Wassim from Burger Index,
On this week’s BI Insights, we looked at a question increasingly being asked across the industry:
Is Keeta entering Europe?
Europe’s delivery market has consolidated into a stable structure, with a small number of platforms operating across most markets.
The question is what happens if a new player enters.
Keeta’s expansion pattern
Hong Kong as a proof of concept
Saudi Arabia and GCC markets
Brazil, targeting a large, established market
Each step moves into larger and more competitive environments.
But expansion is not frictionless.
In Brazil, Keeta delayed its planned launch in Rio de Janeiro due to competitors holding exclusive agreements.
Why this matters for Europe
If exclusivity is used as a defence, where does Europe stand today?
We ran a query on all platforms in Spain:
How many restaurants are exclusive to a single platform?
If a high share of restaurants are locked into exclusive agreements, it raises the barrier to entry for any new platform.
If not, the market is structurally more open.

But Europe is still hypothetical.
To understand what Keeta’s expansion could actually look like, the better signal comes from the markets where it is already active today.
Qatar Supply
Keeta is already operating at the same level as incumbents on supply in Qatar, just months after launching.
This shows if Keeta enters Europe it will not just scale gradually, it will reach choice parity within a short timeframe.

KSA Promotions
In all markets Keeta’s expansion has triggered: increased promotion intensity and pricing adjustments.
In Riyadh, Keeta focuses on free delivery and item-level discounts across almost all popular stores, while Hungerstation applies deeper percentage discounts across a smaller set of stores.

Hong Kong Pricing
On affordability, applying the same basket on Hanoi Vietnamese in Mong Kok, Keeta is ~12% cheaper versus Foodpanda, driven by lower original prices in addition to promotions.

UAE Coverage
In Downtown Dubai Keeta appears to concentrate supply within the 2–5km range to build density and operational efficiency before expanding its delivery radius.

What this means
These dynamics only become visible when data is extracted and structured consistently across platforms.
In a market like Europe, where platforms are optimising within a stable structure, any new entrant introduces competitive pressure that needs to be tracked early.
Burger Index solves this by mining online data across web and app platforms, enriching it through attribute extraction and matching, and visualising it in a way teams can go from questions to decisions daily.
