How Consistent Is Chocolate Pricing on Q-Commerce?

Hi, it's Wassim from Burger Index,

On this week’s BI Insights, we looked at product assortment price consistency across q-commerce locations.

We started with the chocolate category, where product variety is high, pricing is sensitive and promotions are frequent.

We analysed the full category across Noon Minutes’ 32 locations in UAE. Given the size of the chocolate category, for this email we are focusing on one brand, The Big Daddy, a fast growing chocolate bar brand in the UAE known for its filled and flavoured bars.

Across 53 Big Daddy Products, 6 SKUs Vary in Price

Where price variation appears

Price inconsistency is not a distribution issue.
Even widely listed SKUs show price gaps across locations, indicating pricing is not centrally enforced.

Promotions are location driven

Promotions are fragmented across locations and not coordinated at product level.
The same SKU can be heavily discounted in some stores and full price in others at the same time.

What this means

Location level execution is driving pricing outcomes.
Without visibility at this level, q-commerce and brands cannot control pricing consistency, promotion strategy or customer price perception.

Burger Index tracks pricing, coverage and promotions across every location on every platform, updated daily.
